The Design: KAIWERO
Meaning: Challenger - The Inspiration for this design - Come to the forefront to 'Challenge'
The Story:
In New Zealand Traditional Māori Challenges 'Wero' were carried out as part of a welcoming ceremony (powhiri) to determine the intentions of a visiting group. These 'Wero' were made by only the fittest agile warriors of the areas local Tribe (Tangata Whenua)
Whether the visiting group had come with peaceful intentions, or with a vicious nature was determined by the way in which the spear (taiaha or taki) was set down and picked up. See Images
The 'Wero' today are used mostly with visiting dignitaries. A Challenger (Kaiwero) will execute the challenge.
Athlete-X have merged the traditional aged cracked leather and embossing effect with an antique effect of Bronze- to form MMA - COMBAT gloves with DISTINCTION and FIGHTING FUNCTION

Athlete-X you've done it again with a great design and quality pair of gloves I've worn mine every day for training since i got them 2 months ago and followed your cleaning tips they're still like brand new so keep up the good work
